Florian Wittmann

Biography

Florian Wittmann is working as a senior scientist/project manager in the Competence Center Emerging Technologies at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe, Germany. He studied political science and economics with a focus on transformation processes in the Central and Eastern European Countries at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and the University of Regensburg. After having worked as a research assistant at the Geschwister-Scholl Institute of Political Science at the LMU Munich, he completed his PhD at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS), with research stays at the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest and the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. In his doctoral thesis (2015-2019), he investigated the implementation of EU Cohesion Policy in Polish and Italian regions from a comparative and multi-level perspective.
