This table is an extract from a 2019 TIPC research report, which examines the practices, rationales and approaches associated with policy experimentation for transformative change. The extracts summarises five modes of experimentation identified by TIPC: policy design; instruments and processes; experimental spaces; supporting, connecting and evaluating societal experiments; and experimental governance culture. It can help us to consider the capacity for experimentation within an organisation or work programme.
