This brief blog critically examines the vision of the 4th industrial revolution. It suggests that there are shortcomings in the vision stemming from its technological optimist position (technological solutions for social problems exist or can be created) and its technocratic viewpoint (those who matter are the creators of new technology rather than a broader social constituency of those who will be affected by technological change).
