This simple tool is designed to support group learning and reflection in Transformative Innovation Policy and sustainability transitions initiatives.
The tool is based on the idea that documenting significant moments, decisions, and turning points can help identify patterns of change and lessons for future action. It encourages us to reflect on who we are in relation to the system we inhabit, and what resources and experiences we bring to collective action on transformation.
Reconstructing these ‘histories of change’ supports reflection on how actors, contexts, and interventions interact in system transformations, and surfaces the history and evolution of change initiatives.

Reflections on use
This tool was developed with Victoria Ward and Wendy Schultz of Hyphae/ Jigsaw Foresight for TIPC’s engagement week in 2024, delivered in partnership with Eu-SPRI, the Deep Transitions Lab and the Government of Catalonia.
The event brought public and private investors together in Barcelona to support new partnerships and an emerging practice community dedicated to cross-sectoral cooperation on system change.
